Audience feedback from focus group -double page article

I asked my focus group to assess and evaluate my double page article, I used open ended questions to ensure I got enough feedback and reflection in order to improve my article. I asked questions like 'How does the layout represent the generic conventions of a magazine?' and 'Does the colour scheme reflect the artist that is being portrayed and how?', also asked 'If the style of font reflects the article presented?'.
The summary of my findings concluded that I need to change the layout of my article into columns in order to reflect the generic conventions of a music magazine. However, my focus group also said that the colours and fonts and style of language used represents the artist featured.

Developing the contents page - Final contents page

This is a picture of my final music magazine contents page design, I created this after I received feedback from my focus group.

Audience feedback from focus group - contents page

I have created a focus group of 5 people will are helping me evaluate my music magazine ideas.
I asked them open ended questions reflecting upon aspects of my magazine, such as 'How does the contents page reflect an informative guide to the magazine?' and 'Do the colours and the styles of font follow the conventions of my magazine', also ' In what ways are the pictures appropriate for the contents and layout of the magazine' etc.
At this stage of the process my audience feedback is particularly important because my focus group are potential readers and they can help me reflect on my magazine in order to make it better.
My focus group concluded that my contents page reflects a true and clear picture of my music magazine and that it also includes generic conventions of a music magazine. The group thought my pictures were relevant and crucial for explaining my new and upcoming bands as they really reflect my style of music.
However, the group also noted that I could improve the contents page by adding different effects to the background because it is quite plain. Therefore I am going to add a hand drawn design to put behind my text.

Time management update

I am on target for the music magazine deadline because it is the 8th of march and I am drafting my contents page and double feature article. I am also going to get audience feedback from my focus group, which will allow me to develope my ideas further.

Developed music magazine front cover

From the audience feedback I recieved, I have changed aspects of my front cover to reflect what my target audience wants from my magazine,.I have changed the styles of font to reflect the generic conventions of a music magazine. A generic convention of a music magazine is that the masthead should be in a different font compared to the rest of the front cover (coverlines, tagline etc).

Audience feedback from focus group

I created a focus group of 5 people, who I then asked to assess and evaluate my music magazine front cover using open ended questions to ensure qualatative data.
I asked questions such as, 'How does this magazine cover reflect my genres proposed?' and 'Is the colour scheme appropriate for this style of magazine' and also 'Does the layout look typical for one that is a blues/rock magazine'.
The summary of my findings were that my front cover is a good representation of the pace/tempo of a classic/blues rock magazine as the layout is more relaxed than most new age rock styles. My focus group also thought that my colour scheme was a good choice because this type of music is stereotypically associated with males and rebellious themes. However, My focus group concurred that there should be a difference within the style of fonts on my front cover.

These photos were also taken because they are an appropriate rock duo that I'm going to feature in my magazine.

Photoshoot for music magazine

I think that these pictures are appropriate for my music magazine because they reflect a rock atmosphere and also it shows an informal setting which is more likely to draw people in to this kind of music.
